The Adelaide Hills wine region is fast building a reputation as one of the finest producers of cool climate wines in the world. There are now in excess of 50 wineries scattered throughout the area, all within a short drive of Burdett's Country Retreats at Basket Range. Many offer tasting platters of regional produce, and some also have excellent restaurant facilities.
Further afield, to the north, are the vineyards of the famous Barossa Valley and Clare Valley and to the south, the Southern Vales wine region. These districts are still within easy reach of your accommodation and make an ideal day trip.
Less than 10 minutes from your accommodation, the iconic and popular Scenic Hotel at Norton Summit offers our guests a discount on quality restaurant meals.
Across the Piccadilly Valley on the M1 are the delightful towns of Crafers, Bridgewater, Aldgate and Stirling. All of these villages have good restaurants, in particular the Bridgewater Mill which is arguably one of the best restaurants in Australia (open only for lunch and bookings absolutely essential), the stylish Stirling Hotel and the charming Aldgate Pump Hotel.
